There is one more element to the story of naming Joe Boo’s Cookoos. Joe Boo is the owner’s nickname and “cookoos” alludes to cuckoo clocks, but Boussidan also admits to an unusual fondness for “hard c” food words. “The hard ‘c’ I liked because we have a lot of foods in the Jewish experience with that sound- like knich, kreplach, kugel and kiska.  “C’s are very good by food”.
